
Day 1
Reception in the Iquitos airport, transfer Round Trip, short city tours. Transfer to the main harbor to approach our speed boat and visit the floating huts in the district of “Belen”, located on the edge of the Itaya river, continue traveling down the Amazon River to arrive at our ecological reserve “Cumaceba Lodge”. Reception with typical drink, accommodation in the bungalows with private bathrooms, Jungle walk in the forest to see flora and fauna in the reserve. Typical lunch.
In the afternoon a boat ride on the Amazon River to look for gray and pink fresh water dolphins. Visit to a small zoo, then the sunset on the Amazon river. Dinner and night canoe ride to search for alligators in the Shansho lake. Overnight.
Day 2
Early jungle walk for bird watching. Breakfast and excursion to visit a Yagua Indian etnia, to see their typical clothing and hear their own dialect, see how they use the blowgun, typical dance and you can buy or trade their handycraft. Typical lunch. Return to Iquitos. Transfer at hotel or airport.
Day 1
Reception at the airport, short city tours. Transfer to the main harbor to meet our speed boat to visit the floating houses of “Belen”, located on the edge of the Itaya river, continue traveling down the Amazon River to arrive at the ecological private reserve “Cumaceba Lodge”. Reception with typical drink, accommodation in the bungalows with private bathrooms, typical lunch, a long walk in the primary forest knowing medicinal plants and the wild life of the reserve. Depending on the weather conditions, we may see the sun set. At night jungle walk excursion, to hear the sound of the rain forest animals and to find various nocturnal insects and frogs.
Dinner and over night.
Day 2
Early jungle walk to a primary rain forest to look for monkeys, birds, sloths, medicinal plants, orchids. Breakfast, and visit to the “Yagua” Indians to see their native clothing and own dialect demonstration of old way of typical hunting with the Blowgun”, Processed handy crafts that could be traded or bought. After lunch, tour by the Amazon river visiting a small zoo to see varieties of animals like: sloths, monkeys, turtles, Caymans, the famous Anacondas “Constrictor (non poisonous)! After another chance to see the beautiful Amazonian Sunset, we go on a nocturnal lake excursion in canoes, with possibility of observing Caymans (Alligators).
Dinner and over night.
Day 3
Early canoe ride to go bird watching in their natural habitat of the “Shansho lake” our biological area. Breakfast and we go by foot to a secondary trail to see the river side huts, farms and see the way the local people live. Walk to the Yanayacu river for canoe ride, piranha fishing (as well as other species of Amazon fish), bird watching, and the way back we do by a primary jungle. typical lunch and return to Iquitos. Transfer at the hotel or airport.
Day 1 Iquitos – Cumaceba Lodge.

Transfer to the main harbor to meet our speed boat in order to visit the floating houses in the district of “Belen”, located on the edge of the Itaya river, continue traveling down the Amazon River to arrive at our ecological reserve “Cumaceba Lodge”. Reception with typical welcome drink, and accommodation in the bungalows (all with private bathrooms), typical lunch followed by a trek into the forest to see medicinal plants and the wild life of the reserve. Depending on the weather, we may see the Sunset before a night jungle walk to hear the sound of the tropical rain forest animals and the see various nocturnal insects and frogs. Dinner and over night.
Day 2 Cumaceba Lodge
Early canoe ride for birdwatching in their natural habitat of the “Shansho lagoon” our biological area. Breakfast, and visit to the native etnia “Yagua” to see their native customs and hear their own dialect, demonstration of old way of typical hunting with the “Pucuna” or Blowgun”. Possibility to buy or trade handy crafts before a typical lunch. After lunch, a tour on the Amazon river visiting a native who preserves some varieties of animals like: sloths, monkeys, turtles, caimans (alligators), the famous Anaconda and red tail Mantona boa “Constrictor, (non poisonous!) . Amazon Sunset, nocturnal excursion in canoe by the lagoon with possibility of observing Caimans.
Dinner and over night.
Day 3 Cumaceba Lodge – Monkey Island.
Breakfast. Amazon trip visiting a private primate conservation project with 5 different endangered species. Lodge return. Tour in canoe. Typical music performance. Overnight in Cumaceba Lodge.
Day 4 Cumaceba Lodge – Iquitos.
Breakfast and canoe ride in the Lagoon Shansho lagoon to the giant ‘Victoria Regia’ water lilies , with a billingual guide experienced in ecology. We visit another lake to fish for piranhas, cat fish, fresh water sardines, after which we will return to the Lodge and have a typical buffet lunch with your bilingual guide.
DAY 1: Iquitos – Cumaceba Lodge.
Transfer to the dock for boarding our speed boat and visit to Belen floating village on the Itaya River. Navegation on the Amazon, watching different villages.
Arrival welcome drink in Cumaceba Lodge. Room asigment in private cabins. Little jungle walk observing orchids. Typical lunch self service. Jungle hike knowing flora and fauna. Sunset on the Amazon. Night jungle excursion searching insects, anfibians, tarantulas etc. Jungle legends. Overnight in Cumaceba Lodge.
DAY 2: Cumaceba Lodge
Early morning, excursion for bird watching on shansho Cocha. (Hoatzin Lake) Breakfast. Jungle visit to the Yagua community, observing typical dresses (grass skirt) native language, life style. Blowgun demostration and the way how they hunt in times gone by, handycrafts comerce or trading. Typical lunch. Amazon journey for visiting a family conservation animal shelter as: sloths, monkeys, turtles, anacondas and boa constrictors. Grey and pink river dolphins watching. Night jungle cayman seeking. Dinner. Overnight in cumaceba Lodge.
DAY 3: Cumaceba Lodge – Monkey Island.
Breakfast. Amazon trip visiting a private primate conservation project with 5 different endangered species. Family visit that produces sugar cane and processes different products with a sugar cane mill (destillary) sugar cane rum melossas. Lodge return. Typical music performance. Overnight in Cumaceba Lodge.
DAY 4: Cumaceba Lodge – Camping
Brakfast; and observation of the Amazon water lilies- Victoria Regia. Sport fishing trip for different species-the voracius Piranhas, cat fish, sardines. Lunch self service. Departure to jungle interior for overnight in hammocks or tents. Night hiking. Night bird excursion. Overnight.
Morning hike. Breakfast. Basic instructions of jungle survival. Canoing row (season conditons- dry or rainy) Back to Cumaceba lodge. Lunch. 14.30 pm. Departure to Iquitos. Transfer the hotel or airport.
