CITY TOUR

  • We visit the historical center of Lima, including "Paseo de la Republica", "Plaza San Martin", the Main Square and the surroundings monuments: " The government palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop`s Palace; City Hall, the Desamparados train station, and the Moorish-style houses and balconies along Lima`s old streets.
    In the cathedral, the tour guide will show you the sacristy, the side chapels, the impressive Choir seating, and the tomb of Lima`s founder, Francisco Pizarro.
  • The Next stop is San Francisco convent, with the best exhibition of Colonial art in Latinoamerica. The tour includes the Choir hall, the Monk`s library and the sacristy, featuring collection of Zurbaran and Rivera oil paintings. After visiting the main yard of the cloister to see its fine XVI century Seville styles and Moorish Arches, the tour will proceed to the underground cripts known as the catacombs.
    After we will visit the traditional neighborhood near the San Isidro Golf Club, the olive Grove park and the modern Larco Mar shopping and the entertainment complex including the Park of Love where we will finish with a spectacular sight of the Pacific Ocean.

MUSEUMS IN LIMA

PACHACAMAC

Archaeological complex of Pachacamac: Important center ceremonial of coast Peruvian, in whose earth they were developed to diverse cultures in different periods until the time Inca, that established new administrative centers, adapting the preexisting constructions to the new necessities. The Temple of the Sun, the Acllahuasi, the Palace of Taurichumbi, Seat of the Travelling ones was constructed, among others. In the place also there is a museum; which contains a collection of found archaeological pieces in the area during the excavations.
Finally, we will visit the contemporary Bohemian district of Barranco where it is possible to be visited the parks, malecones, and the famous bridge of the sighs.

GOLD MUSEUM

Duration: 4 ½ hours aprox

LARCO MUSEUM

Housed in a unique colonial residence dating back to the XVII century, built on top of a VIII century pyramid, this fabulous museum includes the exquisite Collection of Peruvian Gold and Silver from the olden days, and the Pre-Hispanic Erotic Art Salon. Its pieces have toured major world museums. Larco is among only a few museums around the world opening their vaults to the public, with over 45,000 archaeological pieces that have been classified by renowned specialists and scholars. The Larco Museum exhibits the largest private collection of pre-Colombian Peruvian art in the world.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ARCHAEOLOGY, ANTHROPOLOGY AND HISTORY

The old Colonial mansion housing this museum was an old residence of Peru’s viceroys and then of its Liberators. This is Peru’s grandest museum and houses the Estela Raymondi and the Tello Obelisk monuments, two important carved stone pieces dating back to the Formative period 1000 years B.C. It features the largest textile collection, with fabrics from the Pre-Ceramic period through the Inca Empire, and a major collection of Ancient Peruvian metals. The remarkable Tawantinsuyo Room illustrates one hundred years of the Inca Empire through virtual models and re-creations. (Closed Monday)

MUSEUM OF THE NATION

Inaugurated in 1990, exhibition in big rooms distributed in four levels, with a sample that recreates all the pre-Hispanic manifestations among 14,000 BC. and 1532 AD. Ceramic exhibition, replicas of the main archaeological places of Peru. Dioramas, paintings and diverse collections that represent the different aspects of the development of the old Peru. Restoration shops, historical file, libraries, galleries and auditórium.

REAL FELIPE MILITARY- HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Duration: 2.00 Hours 
Military strength lifted in honor to the King Felipe III, on the ruins of a prision of Callao. In 1747 during the Government José Manzo of Velasco, and it was concluded in 1773 by the Viceroy Amat and Juniet, it was created basically as outpost of defense of Lima against the incursions of pirates and corsairs. The shape is pentagonal in star´s of 5 tips form for its construction you uses blocks of stones of distant quarries.
